Reg Clements - Bass

Personal Background:

Reg was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. As a youth, he had been interested in music, but had not taken any real steps to pursue music, until he saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. Shortly thereafter, a local band was looking for a bass player and were willing to help him learn. He didn't need much prompting and fell in love with the electric bass.

Musical Background:

Reg has been playing music for over 20 years now. He enjoys playing a wide variety of musical styles which includes; Motown, R&B, Funk, Blues, Jazz and Reggae. He is one of those musicians who, quite simply put, likes to “get out and play”, as he sees this as only improving his musical performance. As a progressive and well learned bassist, Reg can be found on any given night providing accompaniment to other musicians around the Ottawa area. 'Sitting in' with other musicians at venues such as The Bayou, The Rainbow, Tucson's and Christine's, where Reg further provides proof of his accomplished musicianship. As a progressive and positive musician, Reg provides the musical canvas upon which a deep and rich musical foundation is built, which in turn offers the listener an opportunity to truly experience any musical genre that he accompanies to its fullest.

Musical Influences:

His influences are diverse; country, soul, rock, jazz, adult contemporary and more. As Reg puts it; “Pretty much anything with a groove”.

The FunKtion:

Reg joined the FunKtion in July of 2005. A welcome addition, he has greatly contributed with his great musical talent and great personality. “Sweet”.
