Joe Trivisonno - Trumpet and Flugelhorn

Personal Background:

Joe was born and raised in Montreal. He enjoys most sports and is an avid amateur hockey player. After relocating from Montreal, he settled in Ottawa and has become a successful entrepreneur.

Musical Background:

Joe studied trumpet at Rosemount High, Dawson College and McGill University in Montreal. In the past 35 years, Joe has played with numerous big bands in the Montreal and Ottawa area. Joe also toured North America and England for 8 years with an R&B band. He has recorded in New York, London, and Montreal.

Musical Influences:

Some of Joe's favorite trumpet players are Don Ellis, Glen Stuart, Arturo Sandoval, Maynard Ferguson and Guido Basso. Some of his favorite bands include Blood, Sweat and Tears, Chicago, and Tower of Power.

The FunKtion:

Joe has always enjoyed playing with a smaller brass section. The FunKtion has given him the opportunity to get back to playing the music he enjoys the most.
